Contrary to conventional wisdom, most stainless steel alloys are not completely resistant to corrosion. For example, surface corrosion can occur when foreign residu, generated by secondary finising processes, becomes entrapped within the grain of the metal. When this residue is explsed to moisture, undersirabe surface blemishes and costly repairs can be the result.
To Avoid these sorts of headaches from surfacing after you have installed your letters, we highly recommend that all exterior installed flat cut stainless steel letters and lgos be passivated. This procedure removes any foreign surface contaminants and at the the same time creates a passive oxide layer that will protect the letters against any furture corrosion.
We gurarantee that all our Flat Cut stainless steel Alloy 316 letters and logos have been passivated adhering to the ASTM A967 and AMS 2700 standards.
